This is a tough one. I think it’s one of the best marketing ideas I’ve seen in a while on one hand, and depressingly ridiculous at the same time on the other. My cynical side is struggling with the exciting possibility of eating a McWhopper, and even the idea of bringing peace and type 2 […]
Hello, and welcome
Ice Cream for Everyone is a marketing strategy consultancy. I help agencies, brands, and startups figure out the best way to communicate with their audience.
What I do
If “x” marks the spot, I am about detailing the map and working out the best way to get there. I work closely with clients to refine brand and marketing objectives, then develop a plan leading to success.
Workshops & Training
I have led workshops and training sessions for groups of up to 100 participants. Topics vary based on client needs; from branding to many aspects of digital transformation, marketing, and media trends.
I have worked with agencies and clients based in the UK, France, Germany, Spain, The Netherlands, United States, Singapore, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Indonesia, The Philippines, China, Thailand, Australia, Trinidad & Tobago, Nigeria, and Kenya. I happily travel wherever needed for assignments, research projects, or speaking opportunities.
I have an international background. I have lived, travelled, and worked in many countries around the world. I apply my broad experience of people and cultures to develop new strategic solutions.
Your business and audience inform ideas and strategies before any other media consideration. I don’t have any vested interest towards a particular media solution, allowing me to be completely neutral.
I enjoy exploring the margins, envisioning the future, questioning old ways to improve them, and forging brand new paths to success. If that’s what you are interested in as well let’s talk.
Willem is a brilliant strategic partner. Extremely smart with broad sector experience and keen instincts, Willem makes it easy for you to plunge him into any challenge. He brings insightful perspective to both consumers and the communications landscapes they inhabit. I’ve worked with Willem both as an agency colleague (on a large auto account) and as a freelance collaborator (working with creative technology organisations) and can highly recommend him. He’s flexible, knowledgable, reliable, and also just a pleasure to work with.Nykeeta Tish, Client Services Director @ Framestore
Willem is one of the best planners I’ve ever worked with. Creative, insightful and willing to take on any challenge all while remaining keenly aware of the commercial value. Willem’s ability to dig deep into a segment or consumer mindset and explain it simply and clearly is invaluable, and saved us on many occasions. Most importantly he’s not afraid to cut through the BS to get to the heart of the matter as his main objective is to deliver outstanding work and results. Which he does.Jean-Paul Biondi, Southeast Asia Sales Manager @ Getty Images
Willem is terrific and I love working with him. He’s smart and a quick study and completely in tune with the way people are talking and sharing in today’s communication landscape. His briefs are always well crafted and considered and because he really does his homework when preparing them he always finds a few golden nuggets of information that, i feel, give us a unique route in to tackling a brief.Tori Winn, Chief Creative Officer @ Precedent
Willem is one of those people who keeps amazing you, not only is he an amazing food chef, speaks fluent French, had a career in a thousand other things before moving into planning, he is a great guy to work or hang out with. On the job he knows how to play his cards and has the insights to get the job done… Working with Willem is both a pleasure and a cultural privilege.Florentijn Diepeveen, Global Art Director, Interactive / Ecommerce @ Tommy Hilfiger

I’m catching up on some reading and came across this article written by Tracy Follows: “Cannes Lions: will advertising ever again be about the people it serves?”. At first I didn’t take any special notice at the title, I might have been paying more attention to the Cannes Lions part of it. I was mostly nodding to […]
My brother Morgan opened his first restaurant & wine bar on Saturday 1st August, which I was – and still am – very excited about! It is called Le Coq à l’Ane, a playful name based on a French saying which translates best in English as a non sequitur, going from thing to another completely […]
